M2 Ingredients Partners with Anchor Ingredients Co. LLC to Expand Functional Mushroom Innovation in Pet Nutrition

M2 Ingredients, the largest functional mushroom grower and supplier in the Western Hemisphere, today announced a strategic partnership with Anchor Ingredients Co. LLC, a premium ingredient supplier serving pet food manufacturers across North America.

Through this partnership, Anchor Ingredients will distribute M2 Ingredients’ portfolio of clinically studied, full spectrum mushroom powders and extracts to its extensive network, expanding access to functional solutions for pet food, treats, and supplements.

The partnership comes at a pivotal moment as pet owners demand more from pet nutrition. Today, 85% of pet owners believe nutrition and supplementation are as important for their pets as they are for themselves, according to Pet Food Industry (2025), while searches for dog prebiotics have surged 63% year over year, highlighting digestive health as a key priority. As science continues to evolve, the gut is increasingly recognized as central to overall wellness, influencing digestion, immunity, and even behavior. Functional mushrooms are emerging as a powerful solution, delivering prebiotic fibers and immune supporting compounds, with research in dogs showing benefits for microbiome balance, digestion, and immune health across species such as Lion’s Mane, Reishi, Turkey Tail and Shiitake.

“Mushrooms represent one of the most promising and underutilized ingredient categories in pet nutrition,” said Dr. Sandra Carter, Founder of M2 Ingredients. “This partnership allows us to bring science-backed, full-spectrum mushroom ingredients to more brands looking to deliver meaningful benefits for pets.”

“We are excited to partner with M2 Ingredients to bring innovative, high-quality functional mushroom solutions to our customers,” said Al Yablonski, CEO of Anchor Ingredients. “This collaboration enables us to meet accelerating demand for differentiated, functional pet nutrition.”

M2 Ingredients has supplied pet and animal brands for nearly 15 years and is trusted by veterinarians and pet owners alike for its quality and clinically supported ingredients.
