Moulton credits the faculty and clinicians at Washington State University for fostering his professional growth as an aspiring veterinarian.
Undergraduate Degree: Animal Science (Brigham Young University – Idaho). Areas of Interest: Equine, Large Animal, Theriogenology. Raised on a fifth-generation family farm in southeastern Idaho, Moulton developed a profound appreciation for agriculture, livestock, and the pivotal role veterinarians fulfill in supporting rural communities.
His family’s agricultural operations included both beef and dairy cattle, while shire horses became an integral component of the farm following his father's inheritance of two mares from Allan’s great-grandfather.
These formative experiences cultivated Moulton’s connection with animals and informed his pursuit of a career in veterinary medicine.
“I wanted a career in agriculture and around animals, but I also wanted to be able to provide for a family,” Allan said.
“I started following my uncle around and liked the life he lived, so I chose to follow him and start my journey into veterinary medicine.” Within the Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine, Moulton has continued to refine the clinical competencies necessary to treat large animal patients, with a specific focus on equine sports medicine and reproduction.
“Some of the professors and clinicians have become great mentors and friends,” he noted.
Following graduation, Moulton intends to return to Idaho to engage in mixed-animal practice while further advancing his clinical interests.
Outside of the classroom and clinical settings, Moulton enjoys spending time with his wife, Kassdee, and his three children. His personal interests include time spent outdoors on the family farm, watching collegiate and international wrestling, following Yankees baseball, and caring for his Quarter Horse mare, Jules.
He also enjoys singing a Navajo song that he learned to perform for his children at bedtime.
